Rajagopalan Santhanam

Raj joined True North in 2008. He heads the Finance Centre of Excellence for the Firm and partners with both True North’s and portfolio teams’ CXO leadership on matters related to the entire spectrum of finance, governance and risk functions. He also heads the Debt Management Office at True North and in this capacity, helps build sustainable relationships for portfolio companies with various lender partners. He guides the fund management team in structuring investments and exits in a way that is tax-efficient and compliant with applicable regulations.

Prior to joining True North, he had nearly 18 years of operational experience in accounting, finance and treasury management, having last worked as the CFO of Monsanto India businesses and previously with ITC Ltd in various finance functional capacities. His achievements include ideation and implementation of tax-optimized, cash utilization structures; consolidation of legal entity structures; critical support in implementing a business acquisition; and sale of three non-core business lines.

He has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
